HARRISBURG – High school seniors can now apply for a Pennsylvania House of Representatives Scholarship to help cover the costs of higher education, Rep. Mike Fleck(R-Huntingdon/Blair/Mifflin) announced today.

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Mike Fleck (R-Huntingdon/Mifflin/Blair) announced today that his bill (House Bill 849) to regulate the operation of “neighborhood electric vehicles” (NEVs) has been approved by the House of Representatives. The Nov. 15 vote was unanimous, 196 to 0.

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Mike Fleck (R-Huntingdon/Mifflin/Blair) has introduced legislation that prohibits the Department of Corrections (DOC) from hiring outside companies to manage the nursing services provided at Pennsylvania’s state prisons. House Bill 1985 would block DOC from using Commonwealth funds to privatize or outsource nursing services of State correctional institutions.

WHAT: News conference to discuss legislation (House Bill 1985) that prohibits the outsourcing of nursing care at Pennsylvania’s state prisons. Corrections is a core state service and Department of Corrections nurses are an integral part of the state security structure. Outsourcing nursing care to the highest bidder doesn’t necessarily save money and could put our communities at risk.

Mike Fleck (R-Blair/Huntingdon/Mifflin) today announced that he is changing the location of an event to recognize Huntingdon County war veterans who served our country during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The event will now take place on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m., in the Huntingdon Area High School Auditorium, 2400 Cassady Ave., Huntingdon.

Rep. Mike Fleck (R-Blair/Huntingdon/Mifflin) today urged constituents to get involved in Pennsylvania’s redistricting process. Every 10 years, the Commonwealth redraws the boundaries of its state legislative and congressional districts based on data gathered in the U.S. Census. The lines are changed to make each legislative district include roughly the same number of people to ensure equal representation of the state’s entire population.
