Fleck to Host Senior Safe Driving Programs

Rep. Mike Fleck (Huntingdon/Blair/Mifflin) will host two safe driving programs for area senior citizens this April. 

“This is a great opportunity for residents to learn about the latest driving laws and requirements,” Fleck said.  “Not only will participants improve their safety on the roadways, but they will also receive a discount on their auto insurance premiums.  I encourage all local senior citizens to attend.” 

The two-day program will be offered in two different parts of the 81st Legislative District.  Classes for residents living near the Tyrone area will be held on Monday, April 5, and Tuesday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  It will be held at Graystone Court, 1747 Adams Ave. in Tyrone.  Classes for residents living near Belleville will be held on Thursday, April 22, and Friday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  It will be held at the Union Township Senior Center, 20 South Kishacoquillas Street in Belleville. 

Those who participate in the course will receive a minimum 5 percent discount on their auto insurance as mandated by Pennsylvania state law.  Residents must complete both days of classes to receive the discount.  The course consists of classroom instruction only.  No exam or on-the-road driving will be required. 

Individuals must be 55 years of age or older to participate.  Tuition is $15.
