Rep. Mike Fleck (R-Huntingdon/Blair/Mifflin) marked the beginning of his second term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives today after taking the oath of office in the House chamber.
“I am honored that the people of the 81st Legislative Districts have chosen me to represent them,” Fleck said. “I will continue to support their interests and be their voice in Harrisburg.”
A lifelong resident of Huntingdon County, Fleck has taken an active role in his community. He previously served as vice president of the Southern Huntingdon County School District Board of Directors, president of the Huntingdon County Library System Board of Trustees and a member of the United Way board.
During the previous legislative session, he led the fight to keep funding for the Science in Motion program in the state budget and sponsored legislation to regulate the display of human remains for commercial profit. Fleck said he will continue to strongly promote fiscal responsibility on behalf of the state in the 2009-10 legislative session.
The 81st District includes portions of Huntingdon, Mifflin and Blair counties.
