Legislation designed to boost job creation and grow Pennsylvania’s economy by implementing comprehensive business tax reforms was introduced on Wednesday in Harrisburg. The bill would close the Delaware loophole, and allow for a gradual reduction in the corporate net income tax. Rep. Rep. Fleck Comments on His Bill to Prohibit Privatization of Nursing Services in PA Prisons - 11/16/2011
Legislation that would prohibit the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections from hiring outside companies to manage nursing services in state prisons has been introduced in Harrisburg. Rep. Mike Fleck (R-Huntingdon, Mifflin, Blair), prime sponsor of House Bill 1985, said that special training is needed to prepare nurses for prison work, and public safety outweighs cost when considering who should handle nursing services in the Department of Corrections. Legislation to bring lawsuit abuse reforms to Pennsylvania’s courts similar to those already in place in 40 other states was approved Monday by the Pennsylvania House. House Bill 1, known as the Fair Share Act, would ensure the responsibility for damages in civil lawsuits are assigned in an equitable manner. Rep.
